Ceremony: Mt Tabor Park @ the Summit (yellow marker on map above)

  • Time: Please arrive around 4:45 PM; ceremony to start at 5 PM
  • Transportation: There are a variety of options for getting to the ceremony! For locals (and adventurous out-of-towners) we encourage riding your bike. There are also the options of taking a taxi, carpooling with other wedding guests, taking the bus, or driving yourself up to the park. There is a limited amount of parking at the top of Mt Tabor park so we highly encourage people to carpool to avoid having to walk long distances to the ceremony site. Let us know if you are planning to drive up and want to offer some extra seats along the way, we can help coordinate carpools. We can also help arrange for taxis from the ceremony (Mt Tabor) to the reception (Bridgeport Brewery) once we get a head count of who is traveling by taxi.
  • What to expect: The ceremony itself will be short and sweet. The park only allows 12 chairs so most of you will be standing but we promise to not make you stand too long. Kids are welcome; there is a playground near the ceremony site where they can burn some energy if needed. The ceremony is outside so be prepared for outdoor conditions (historic average temp at the time of the wedding is 70F). There are restrooms available in the park, near the ceremony site. We may have some sort of “guest participation” in the ceremony but we don’t really know what yet so you might just have to wait and see what that becomes on the day of the wedding.

Reception: Bridgeport Brewpub (green marker on map above)

  • Time: Doors open at 6 PM; dinner will be served at 7 PM.
  • Transportation/Directions: The reception is located on the north side of downtown in a neighborhood called the Pearl District. The brewery is located directly on the streetcar line.  If you decide to stay downtown while in Portland we highly recommend staying near the streetcar line so you don’t need to drive to/from the reception. Other transportation options are listed above in the ceremony section.
  • Nourishment: Appetizers, drinks, dinner, and dessert will be served. Please bring your ID.
  • Music: We are thrilled to have the Pete Krebs Trio joining us for the evening for some live gypsy jazz. Band will be on from 8-10 PM.
  • What to expect: Morgan and Dave should arrive around 7 PM and we have the space until 11 PM. Reception is indoors. Kids are welcome. We are serving beer and wine, no hard liquor. Vegetarian options will be available for dinner.

Registry: Your love and friendship through the years are the best gifts anyone could ask for!  But if you’d like to help us build our new home and life together, our preferences are below:

  • House: Our house is 101 years old and could use some updating – first on the list is a kitchen remodel.  We could really use some help for the work we would like to do to make this house our home.  To help us in our new venture of home ownership and the joys of remodeling, you can donate (by check) to either one of us.
  • Stuff: Independent artists, Crate & Barrel, Garnet Hill and the such can be found here. The website allows us to link to a variety of items from different places all on one page.  Make sure you click  “reserve gift” when you purchase it so we don’t end up with duplicates. It’s on the right side of the page, and looks like this:

  • Gift Certificates: Of course, we can always use gift certificates since we just bought a house, and plan on remodeling parts of the house someday. Here is a list of places that we would use in setting up our new home: Rejuvenation, Home Depot, Garden Fever, Portland Nursery

Portland, OR: We will do our best to help you all out in choosing where to stay and what to do while you are here; we love our little city and want to make sure you feel that love as well! There’s a great light rail system from the airport to downtown, so renting a car may not be necessary.

A good place to start for things to do in and around Portland is Travel Portland. But feel free to contact us for other suggestions.

PLACES TO STAY

We trust you can use Expedia if you want to stay in a regular hotel such as Marriott or Super 8.  Here are some other options if you want more direction.

  1. Hi Morgan,
What is your plan to get your shower gifts from the midwest to the pacific northwest ? Knowing will help us choose the perfect gift for you.

    • I will either check them on the flight or ship them home if they are too big for the flight. I will plan to bring a big bag to take the gifts home since I will only show up with my little overnight bag! Thanks for checking :) Looking forward to seeing you soon!

  2. Hi Morgan,

We just got reservations to stay at the Park Lane Suites in downtown Portland (10-15 min. walk to Reception). We got a 2 bedroom suite that we can share with Grandma Lucille and Allison for $139 a night; a pretty good deal for 4 people. And it even has a kitchen, not that we plan on doing a lot of cooking, mind you.

    Later,

    Steve

  3. Dear Dave and Morgan,
What a glorious wedding! We so enjoyed being there. Quick question… what is your complete mailing address?
    Love,
    Leslie
